Windows 98 SE Security Update problem

I have a friend who is trying to download and install the Microsoft Critical Updates for Windows 98 SE. However when she gets to the Update site, it brings up a message that says Administrators Only and will not allow her to download the updates. The rest of the Admininistrators Only message refers to Windows XP and 2000. How can she get around this issue?

Re: Windows 98 SE Security Update problem

Check this article at toejumper.net which covers a similar sounding problem.

Right near the bottom is a paragraph beginning "On Win 98, and presumably Millennium, the Windows Update feature can careen out of control..." which may be of help.
