    Conditional Format-Change Colors Of Cells IF (2000)

    Good Monday Morning,

    I would like to change the color of the row if Column A equals "Racking Criteria".

    How would I do that?

    Good evening <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

    Select the row or rows you want to apply conditional formatting to. Let's say you select rows 5 through 15.
    Select Format | Conditional Formatting...
    Select Formula Is from the first dropdown.
    Enter the following formula in the box next to it:

    =($A5="Racking Criteria")

    The 5 is because in this example, 5 is the first row selected. Change as needed, and note the use of absolute and relative in the cell reference.
    Click Format... and set the formatting you like.
    Finally, click OK twice.

    Do the following:

    1- Assuming that the cells start in row 1, then select all of the cells that you want to change the color and make sure that cell A1 is the active cell.

    2- Select "Conditional Formatting..." from the Format menu.

    3- In the Conditional Formatting dialog box, Select "Formula Is" in the drop down list.

    4- In the formula text box enter this formula:

    <code>
    =$A1="Racking Criteria"
    </code>

    5- Click on the Format button and select the formatting you want.

    6- Click OK to close all dialog boxes.
