Delay Sending Emails (Outlook 2003 Prof. SP1)

I have emails that I want to send out on certain dates and certain times on those dates. They are not working. When I searched the database on this subject, everything was related to not receiving emails in a timely manner after being sent. These are emails I purposely delay. Anyone with any ideas on why this is not working?

You are setting the "do not send before" field? What isn't working -- they go too soon, too late, never go at all?

Yes, I am checking this option. They are not going out at all.

I haven't tested in an Exchange environment, but if I recall correctly, in a POP3 environment, the messages sat in the outbox until Outlook did the first regularly scheduled Send/Receive after the "do not deliver before" time, at which point Outlook sent them. Of course, that requires Outlook to be running and "online," and the network connection to be active. In Exchange, perhaps this becomes a server-side issue??

Edited by HansV to make URL clickable - see <!help=19>Help 19<!/help>

We use an extension from Mapilabs that allows us to schedule various types of e-mails - now had it for 4 months and it has worked perfectly. E-mail Scheduler: http://www.mapilab.com/download/#email_followup

If you are running in Cached mode (the default setting for Outlook 2003) on an Exchange Server, delayed mail does not send unless you are attached to the server! In other Words, the delayed send feature doesn't work.

My experience has been that "Do not deliver before" works fine if I am on the network. But not if you are not on the network. I do not know if this has been corrected in with SP2.
