    BIOS with XP (XP SP2)

G'kids have simple VIAO machines with graphics on motherboard no AGP slot. Installed upgraded Diamond graphics with PCI interface. The machine did not accept the new installation with its install program. I believe the graphics selection in BIOS needs to be changed to go to the PCI graphics board instead of the motherboard. Whoooo!
    Can't get to BIOS!
    They have XP HOME.
Not a problem getting to BIOS on my machines: W98SE or XP Pro using DELETE, but the same technique fails on their machines.

Is XPHOME different in this regard? What advice can you give me?

Re: BIOS with XP (XP SP2)

BIOS setup is a function of the PC hardware, it has nothing to do with the Windows version.

Try pressing F2 or F3 when booting the PC (when the Sony logo appears).

I'm pretty sure Hans has already given you the answer, but for the (possible) benefit of others, here's a link: How to access/enter Motherboard BIOS (I don't know how old or completely accurate it is. For example, I have an Intel board which uses F2.)
