    function call (Excel 2003)

    Hi all,

I'm trying to use a function from the Analyses tool Pack addIn, the function that I am trying to use is the weeknum function, when I call the function it doesn't recognize it, anyone have a solution to this?

    thanks Darryl.

are you calling it from VBA code or from the spreadsheet?

Have you ticked the check box for Analysis ToolPak in Tools | Add-Ins...?

If you are trying to use the function in VBA, you must also tick the check box for Analysis ToolPak - VBA, and then set a reference to atpvbaen.xls in Tools | References... in the Visual Basic Editor.

    Yes thanks,

I do have an additional question, This is the first time that I have used an Addin like this, in the VBA project Window, I now see a Reference to the AddIn...If I distribute my workbook, will the addin travel with the workbook?

    Darryl.

References you set are stored with the workbook, i.e. the end user does not need to go into Tools | References...
The add-in itself is not stored in the workbook. If it is missing on an end user's system, it must be installed (Analysis ToolPak comes with Excel, but it is possible to leave it out in a custom installation)
