    Query sort problem (Access 2003)

I'm trying to sort fields in various queries, but on all of them, it treats the queries as a parameter queries, with boxes coming up asking for input. The input is not needed as the input is already in the table that are being queried. Note: the fields I'm trying to sort are all expressions. What do I do??

    Thanks,
    BILL, Access Novice

Can you provide more info about the queries? For example, switch to SQL view and copy the SQL text into a reply, or post a stripped down copy of your database. See <post#=401925>post 401925</post#> for instructions.

Re: Query sort problem (Access 2003)

You're trying to do too much in one query. You have a Totals query with calculated expressions, so Access must already perform two actions: group the records and perform calculations. Sorting on the result of those calculations in one go is too complicated. Remove the sort order, save the query, then create a new query in design view based upon the totals query. Add all fields, and specify the sort order here. That should work.
