    duplicates in OL 2000

I reloaded some backups and now I have multiple instances of repeating appointments. How can I get rid of the extras? It doesn't work when I click on the repeat box which is where I thought I'd be able to kill these things off. They are the holiday appointments that I downloaded from the web a year or two ago.

There's no simple way to do this that I know of. One thing that might work though is to add the modified date field to a table view and group on that. This should pull together the items that came in at the same time. Once you locate the batch of items, you can select them all and delete them.

We use this method for duplicate contacts and it works well. But appointments and events can be a little more complex. They may not group into one block, but with luck most of them will.

Don't know if this is any easier, but you could assign a category to the unwanted appointments then group by category which would enable quick deletion.
I can't think of any automatic way of assigning the category, though.

it's probably not the best for this problem, but the easy way to make mass changes, including changing categories, is to group by the field and make one change, then drag and drop the other items to that group.
