Annoying pop up for Network Password (IE6)

(Edited by Leif on 19-Dec-05 23:35. To replace attached zip file with composite graphic of three zipped pictures.)

Just this morning I have got the attached dialog box popping up from time to time.
My firewall Trend Micro has just alerted me to the fact that a computer is trying to access my computer via my wireless connection.

Would this be the reason that the dialog box pops up?

I'm going to move this to Outlook - I don't think this is an IE issue.

Does it work if you re-enter the password or click OK in that dialog?

Have you changed the configuration for PC-cillin (or OfficeScan), or Outlook recently?

    Hi Jefferson,

If I type OK it immediately asks the same question again, however if I type Cancel it goes away for a while then pops up again later, this could be 1/2 an hour to an hour later..

I have not changed any configuration recently. The only thing I have changed is to disconnect my wireless network router from my system, but this was only after the annoying dialog box started popping up.

Sometimes the protected portion of the registry where Outlook stores that password becomes corrupted. In such cases, re-recreating the account as a new account usually fixes the problem. After you have verified that the new account works, you can delete the old one. If you can't find the correct dialogs for this, please indicate your version of Outlook.

Thanks for your input. The original shows 3 dialog boxes, it was meant to show the bottom box only, it obviously appended the last one to the other 2, hmmmm.

I have noticed in the last couple of hours it's not popping up anymore.

I use Yahoo DSL for my ISP, and I was getting the same thing for a while, I raised the frequency that Outlook checked my server for messages from 5 minutes to 20 minutes and it seems to have taken care of it so far.

    Happy New Year.

What ever I did, it's gone away. I had a virus on Xmas eve, but that had nothing to do with it.
