    This is a big problem.... (2000 sp 1)

    i hupdate the sheet RATE with import txt file and during this operation the import-macro is very very slow because the sheet STATISTICHE with the variuos folmulas recalculate each cell at evry time i update a record-line in RATE, is possible to have a macro insetedc a formula, in this mode and start that macro after import txt file...
    Tks for patience, naturally respected the structure of sheet STATISTICHE.
    Tks.

    You could turn off automatic recalculation at the beginning of your macro:

    Application.Calculation = xlCalculationManual

    and set it to automatic at the end of the macro:

    Application.Calculation = xlCalculationAutomatic

    At the very beginning of the "import-macro", try putting

    Application.Calculation = xlCalculateManual

    Then at the very end of the "import-macro", put

    Application.Calculation = xlAutomatic

    This should stop the formulas recalculating each cell until you have finished importing all the new data.

    Hope This Helps

    Another possibility would be to use a pivot table on the STATISTICA sheet. Pivot tables don't recalculate automatically, you must refresh them when the data have changed.

    You must choose: either let the cells be recalculated as you import, and accept the slow down, or don't recalculate during the import. It's up to you.
