    bnbform.cgi help

    I have looked and looked at this and can't figure out what the reason that one of these forms will work and the other doesn't. Can another eye maybe help out?

    They both appear to work as in giving a display that the message was sent, but an e-mail is rec'd only by one.

    Doesn't work:
    http://www.grace-efc.org/forms/use.html

    Does work:
    http://www.grace-efc.org/forms/test.html

    Does the outputfile have the same data for both forms or does the file not get created correctly on the use.html page? Just wondering whether it is a "submit" problem or a problem the script is having with formatting the email.

    Re: bnbform.cgi help

    Ken a shot in the dark here but a difference I have noted:

    http://www.grace-efc.org/forms/test.html has:
    <FORM METHOD="POST" ACTION="/cgi-bin/bnbform.cgi">

    but

    http://www.grace-efc.org/forms/use.html has:

    <form action="/cgi-bin/bnbform.cgi" method="post">

    being aware that html is interpretive and the order does not particularly matter it is an obvious difference that could be investigated <img src=/S/shrug.gif border=0 alt=shrug width=39 height=15>

    Re: bnbform.cgi help

    These are two different data results. Just trying to figure out why the use.html page doesn't work. The test.html (which works) is just a cut/paste of a portion of that page. To further answer your question, both "appear" to work fine and produce a result page as successful, but only the one gives an e-mail back to me. I was trying to figure out if it was the different options section that it didn't like, but it works in the test page.

    Jerry,
    I did change that order and try it, but no change. It's probably something as simple as that, but I can't find it.

    Re: bnbform.cgi help

    I have spent three days trying to figure this out. Then just now I tried taking off the "----" at the end of the "submit_by----" and changed it to "submit_by" and it worked!

    It's strange that the names all match like the others, but it must require that particular command to have that particular exact name.

    Thanks everyone for helping me work this through. <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

    LOL. That way the report comes back clearer. It would show as: Answer one-------reply.
