email notification of reply

Per the email notification settings: If you reply to a post, and the person to whom you reply has the following setting checked as yes,

<hr>Do you want all replies to posts that you make emailed to you?

do they get "re-notified" if you edit your original reply?
Reason: I've been editing quite a bit lately and I don't want to "swamp" the poor poster with unnecessary emails.

I would say no they do not get re-notified.

To test this why not modify the top post in this thread and I will tell you if I get notified...chances are NOT

I'm sure Jerry will confirm the results (or lack of) shortly but it's my recollection that emails are not sent for post edits. That can have a possible downside if the poster relies entirely on the emails to decide whether to logon and check the forums. If you add or change something significant, they may not see it.

The many edits I've had to re-post must be because of the <img src=/S/newbrain.gif border=0 alt=newbrain width=21 height=22> I got for an early Christmas present.
