Default Cell Margins (Word 2003)

Does anyone know how to change the default table cell margins from .05? I am trying to help someone with a mail merge to labels and it seems that the default left cell margin is too close to the edge of the label and sometimes seems to print off the label. I know how to change it temporarily but how can I change it for all her labels for mail merge? (Avery 5160)

    Thanks

In the "template" you could change the Normal style paragraph format to have a small amount of left indent. To limit this efffect to the column.

Create an empty table and put the cursor in a table cell

Format > Styles and Formatting

Click the arrow on the right of Table Grid style

Modify...

Set the "Add to template" check box

Format > Table Properties

Options

Set the margins you want

OK

OK

OK

Rather than changing the cell margins, perhaps you can set up a custom label?

Open the Envelope & Label dialog and click options.
Choose the Avery 5160 label and click Details.
Change the side margin by adding the amount you want, say .05"

This seems to shift the whole set of labels over by .05. Will this work for you?

I followed Stuart's suggestion but could not get the changes to become the default until I click on "Set as default table style" under the table grid style.

    Thanks to all!

Thanks for the update, that might help someone else - I guess this was already my default table style when I tested it.
