    Parameters (2000 SR1)

Hi. I have a form which is based on a query to calculate a particular statistic. When you run the query (or form) you have to enter in a "from" date in a parameter value box ie: >[Sales After This Date]. I would like the date which the user enters into the parameter value box to appear on the form with the results of the query so that it is clear on the form what date range was entered to achieve the given results. Is this possible? Your help is much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    JoeK

Yes, what you described is possible. The simplest approach is to put a text box on the form and have the user type the date in that text box before running the query. Then you put a criteria in the query for the sales date field that looks something like:
    <font color=blue><font face="Georgia">> Forms!YourFormName!txtSalesAfterDate</font face=georgia></font color=blue>

You may want to put some validation code on the date being entered to ensure it is a sensible date, and you may also want to invoke the query using a command button or the After Update event of the date text box so you don't have nonsense when you first open the form.

    1. Create a text box in the report header
    2. In the property of that box, under control source type the following:

    ="From " & [Start Date:] & " To " & [End Date:]

    3. That all there is to it.
