    Backup error (2003)

I downloaded the Outlook 2003 Add-in Personal Folders Backup. Now, when I try to use it, I get the following: Error copying File or Folder Cannot copy Outlook: the process cannot access the file because another process has locked a portion of the file. I tried the KB without success, and could not find any reference to it in the Administrative error log. What would be my next step? TYIA&HNY

There are a variety of reasons that another program might have your PST file still open. For example, if I use the integration between Outlook and our document management system, I have to close the DMS program before my PST is freed up. PDA sync software might have the same effect. The trick is figuring out which program is the culprit. <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

Thank you. I did just that a second ago. I use the Copernic Desktop search tool and it was set to index my Outlook emails. When I shut that down, the backup went OK.
