    Replace manual para (2000)

    Hi there
How do I replace manual paragraph marks (the one that looks like a down line and left arrow when you press Shift Enter) with a hard paragraph mark?
I tried ^| but it does not work.
I often get e-mails using this type of paragraph mark and wish to convert it so that the text runs to the end of the line and wraps to the new line.
    Any ideas?
    Regards

The code to search for a manual line end is ^l (that is a lower case L, not the vertical bar |).

I do agree completely with what HansV just posted i.e. carat and then lower case "Ell" ^l .

For me the easiest way, if in a Word 2000 document, is to use the following menus:
Edit, Replace, More, Special, Manual Line Break
which puts the same characters in the "Find What" field.
However, I also realize many email programs will have different replacement menus.

An alterntive way to enter is:
Alt 0094 Then release the Alt key
    Alt 0108
The Alt 0094 inputs the Caret ^
The Alt 0108 inputs the lower case l (Ell)
This last way is the most complicated for me, but helps to understand the characters in the "Find What" field.

I learned as I experimented with this, so thanks for the question, the motivation and the opportunity
