Outlook 2002 "Other" E-mail Won't Work

I can not get Outlook 2002 to accept any "Other" e-mail account.
My AT&T@Home account works fine as it's a POP3 account, but none of my web based e-mail accounts will work. I can not send or receive any messages.
I've tried using IMAP and HTTP both with three different addresses, Yahoo.com, OneBox.com and ZDNetmail.com (which is run by OneBox).
Any ideas? I've looked through MS's Knowledge Base articles and can't find anything that works.
Thank you!

When using the "Web Base" accounts, one needs to contact the provider for these instructions in using Outlook type of mailers. Some (providers) simply prohibit the use of anything but their OWN method.

Go to the providers home page and look for support and/or help. You may even need to do a search.

With the use of Google's advance search one can limit the search to a single domain.

For Yahoo I found the following page using Outlook

For OneBox all I could find was importing from Outlook and Outlook Express to OneBox. It appears that OneBox wants you to use their e-mail method only.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Sometimes I wish I was half as smart as I thought I was. I'm glad, and lucky, to have sites such as this one to help me out.

I looked through the help files at OneBox and can't find anything about retrieving e-mail messages with an external program. You can, however, have your e-mail forwarded to another e-mail account, such as your POP account.

I sent them an e-mail asking for help and will post their reply when I recieve it.

As for Yahoo? I actually tried this last year and I forgot about what happened until now. I think I probably better tell a moderator what happened first because they might not want what I have to say posted on this site. I might cause some problems between this site and Yahoo if I post what they did to me. It really was that bad.

Thank you for your assistance so far.

AFAIK, only yahoo offers access using pop3. the others are web only. None support outlook 2002 and express's http access yet either, except for hotmail.

i've been using yahoo for years and have never had a problem with it. I've had occassional times when service was down, but since it's free, i really can't complain either.

Re: Outlook 2002 "Other" E-mail Won't Work

I have an account with Yahoo that I have had over a six year period and I might have recieved 10 pieces of SPAM during this period.

However, I set-up an account with Yahoo for my business. I followed thier directions so that I could use my own e-mail program with Yahoo, with dire results.

I had not given that address out to anyone, NO ONE, and I now have over 250 e-mail messages running the gamut of SPAM! You name it, I've recieved it!

Yahoo would not to respond to my pleas for help and I had almost forgotten about the account, knowing that there was no saving it, until now. Now I want to cry all over again. I can't believe what happened. Oh well.

I have recieved a reply from OneBox.com finally and they said that they do not and will not support any external e-mail program anytime soon.

that sounds like my problem with hotmail - it gets a good 30 spams a day but my yahoo acct is spam free.

for a short period of time my hotmail acct was in the public directory and now it's all over every directory. i don't know if yahoo has a similar directory, but it sounds like that's what happened to you.

I've had a hotmail account for well over a year... no spam (yet), and a email.com account for almost 3 with no spam either. After about 3 months of each spam-free, I set them up to forward to my "real" e-mail account. If I start getting spammed I can always disable. I never did try Yahoo -- just don't like the name.
