Re: Remove Numbering from CTRL+G

Hi Musab,

My recollection is that Word 97 did have the same problem with the 'sticky' number in the Edit GoTo dialog (I don't have access to it at the moment to check).

To make matters a little more confusing, when I test this dialog on my Word 2000 setup at home, the page number is coming up blank every time I reopen this dialog! - so I'm not sure whether this is something peculiar to my setup, or whether the behavior is supposed to be different in Word 2000.

But in any case, the following is (my recollection of) a macro posted by Robin Trew on the old version of this Lounge - this was for Word 97 but should work on Word 2000 as well:

Public Sub EditGoTo()
With Dialogs(wdDialogEditGoTo)
.Destination = ""
.Show
End With
End Sub

This takes over the built-in Word EditGoTo command, and adds a statement to ensure that the page number is always blank.

Gary
