    Calculate Cell With 2 Values... (xp-pro - office 2003)

    hi experts...

    i get data from an external source like that:

    a1: 4711-16
    a2: 4711+37
    a3: 4711/71
    a4: 4711*11

    now, how can i solve this without having to split those cells, please?!

    best,
    wolfgang

    hi hans..
    4711-16 = subtract 16 from 4711 and so on...

    multiply - add - divide - times...

    Select cell B1.
    Select Insert | Name | Define...
    Enter the name Result in the name box.
    Enter the formula =EVALUATE(A1) in the Refers to box.
    Click OK.
    Enter the formula =Result in cell B1.
    Fill down as far as needed.

    Note: replace EVALUATE with the appropriate name in your language.

    Just another idea and if you are doing this all the time, here is a little Sub you could use:

    Sub SumIt()
    Dim lstLen As Integer

    lstLen = Range("A65536").End(xlUp).Row

    Range("A1").Select

    For i = 1 To lstLen

    ActiveCell = "=" & ActiveCell.Text
    ActiveCell.Offset(1, 0).Select

    Next i
    End Sub
