Emoticons misbehaviors

I hate to bring up a sore subject, but...

I use NSC 4.08. I saw somewhere early on about the icon animations stopping. No biggie -- not really even an annoyance.

However, as a doc specialist, I'm in the habit of typing first, formatting later. It's annoying to position my cursor in the text, click an emoticon and it be inserted at the end of the post text, and my cursor be slammed up to the top. It dang near makes me want to drop the emoticons entirely (but not quite).

Is there any hope for me, or will I just need to try to remember to format as I go.

This one is a bummer from way back. It's because in Javascript there's no way of tracking exactly where the insertion point is in a text area - I can only grab the *whole* content and add the tag to it. Most times it goes at the end but sometimes just to be perverse it goes at the front!

Oh well. Thanks anyway, Eileen. By the way, do you ever sleep, go home, be with your family? I mean, I check the Lounge a couple times a day between work and home (I know, I need a life)... but you're always here and responsive to our needs. Even when we're being big .

I guess this old keyboarder will have to go the other route -- click 'em all then cut and paste into Notepad and print for reference!

Thanks again for all your hard work... I hope Woody appreciates you.

Have you tried clicking 'Markup is enabled'? That might be just what you want.
