LOG ON with one user (Win XP SP2)

When a lady I am helping starts up her computer, it brings up a LOG ON window even though she is a single user for this system. How do we stop the LOG ON window from opening each time she starts the computer.

Try this. It will keep you from having to edit the registry.

    1. Go to Start>Control Panel>User Accounts.
    2. Click Change the way users log on or off.
    3. Remove the check from Use the Welcome screen for fast and easy logon check box.
    4. Click Apply Options.

Won't this just bring on the CLASSIC logon window where she will have to type in her user name and password?

Shouldn't. Take a look here in Kelly's Korner for a more complete set of instructions. HTH
