    Selecting .wpg clip art

    I'm running Office 2000 Standard, SR-1 with Windows 98. Recently I upgraded from Office 97. I often use WordPerfect clipart (.wpg, saved at the level that Word will accept). I have a file started in Word 97 that I'm now editing in Word 2000, and I can't select the clipart images! I need to move or delete or resize, but there's no 4-headed arrow anywhere for me to click and select. I had to install a converter to bring .wpg format into Word 2000, and it is working. Could there be something else on the Word 2000 CD ROM that isn't installed yet? If so what? Other ideas?

    Betsy,

    Can you not just click on the graphic and it becomes selected. I have some WPG's and have no problem in selecting them. However I do not use the Selection Arrow on the drawing toolbar, that does not seem to work very well.

    Andrew,

    Thanks for your reply. Most of the time, "hovering" the cursor over a graphic produces the 4-headed arrow, and a click selects the graphic. I've never had a problem with .WPG clip art before, and I've used it for years.

    This problem started with documents created with Word 97, which I've replaced with Word 2000 (Office 2000). I can still add new .WPG clip art and later select it. But the .WPGs already in the document have become non-selectable. It's a mystery to me.

    Did you install the WP Graphic converter? They are NOT installed by default <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>
    <img src=/S/flatcat.gif border=0 alt=flatcat width=61 height=21>

    Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

    Hi Betsy,

    Try displaying the Drawing toolbar (right-click any toolbar and select Drawing) and turn on the mouse pointer for "Select Objects" and see if that allows you to select them.

    Dave,

    The WP converter was installed, but I've had to reinstall Office 2000 this week, so I'll reinstall the converter. Thanks for the reminder.

    Turning on the Drawing toolbar and using the Select Graphics pointer works! I also reinstalled Office 2000, including the converters. Thank you so much for the help.
