    What do you mean by "the values of the mail merge"?
    If you want to have a document with the merged values for all records, execute the actual mail merge to a new document (step 6 of the Mail Merge Wizard / Task Pane), then save the new document. You can discard the merge document (the one with the merge fields).

    If you want to save the merge document with the merged values for one record, select all merge fields (for example by pressing Ctrl+A) and unlink all fields by pressing Ctrl+Shift+F9, then save the document.

    If you want to save the merge document with the merge fields, but without a link to the data source, activate the Visual Basic Editor (Alt+F11), activate the Immediate window (Ctrl+G), then type

    ActiveDocument.MailMerge.MainDocumentType = wdNotAMergeDocument

    and press enter. Finally save the document.
