    Word Table to Excel (2003)

I am not used to Excel. I have a table created in Word that others would like to view in Excel. Is there a way of making my computer convert it, or do I have to manually retype the whole thing?

Thanks for help with this rather basic request. I can't seem to locate help in help or in my reference books.

It depends on the contents of the table. For many tables, you can simply select the entire table (Alt+5 on the numeric keypad), copy it to the clipboard (Ctrl+C), then paste it into Excel.
This will not quite do what you want if there are paragraph ends/line breaks within cells. Each paragraph would become a separate cell in Excel. To avoid this, you can use Edit | Replace in Word to replace paragraph ends (^p) and line breaks (^l) with either a space, or with some kind of placeholder text such as @@@ that you can replace again in Excel after pasting.

You should be able to select the Table and copy it to the clipboard and paste it into excel directly.
