    Data Form problem

    excel 97

i have vreated a database in excel. to use the data form for entry and editing it seems to work easiest if i leave a blank row between the title block of the database and the column headings. After I finish editing i want to sort the data alphabetically with a small macro i've recorded. It sorts fine without the blank row but with the blank row the column headings and the blank row itself is sorted and filled in . Is there a way to prevent this?

    Thanks in advance

Show us the code you recorded and we can probably tell you how to change it to do what you want.

    Re: Data Form problem

I don't think it is good practice to leave a blank row between the fieldnames and the data. Other Excel tools, not only the sorting tool but filters, pivot tables, macro range methods and properties, like currentregion etc. will not be easily applicable in this format. You will always need some workaround.
