hyperlink (Office 2000)

Edited by HansV to remove request for e-mail assistance - see <!rule=10>Rule 10<!/rule>.

Before going to WindowsXP I could use the cusomize on an Icon and add a hyperlink using the browse for file and it worked fine.
I am unable to get it to work in XP ??? I tried making a folder in the C: directory and this still failed. I got the hour glass, forever until I shut down the
program. Anyone seen this problem ? Thank You

Are you talking about a toolbar button in Excel? What does making a folder have to do with a hyperlink in Excel? Please try to explain more clearly.

As Hans says, your request is somewhat unclear. My best guess is that you're trying to add an icon to a toolbar that opens a specific file when you click on it? If that's the case, here's how:

Right-click on a toolbar and click "Customize..."
Add a custom button from the Macros category to your toolbar
Right-click on the newly added button. Click on "Assign hyperlink" and "Open..."
Navigate to your chosen file, then press "OK" and "Close" to exit the dialogue boxes.
Waggers
If at first you do succeed, you've probably missed something.
