Export list of all files within a folder

I'm not sure if this is the best place for this post but I'm here now...

Is there a quick way to get a list of all the files in a folder exported to either excel or word. I have folders with hundreds of files and typing out the names seems a waste of time, as does copying them idividually.

    It's as good a place as anywhere <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

You could open a command prompt window and type

    dir C:MyFiles /b /s > C:List.txt

This will create a list of all files in C:MyFiles and its subfolders, and put it in the text file C:List.txt. Remove /s if you don't want to include subfolders.

Karen's Directory Printer is a free utility that can "print" a list of files to a text file; you can configure the amount of detail included.

You can open the text file in Excel or Word.
