    Removal of background colour (2000)

I am tring to remove the background colour of white and just use the image of a blue gradient.
For some unknown reason l cannot use a transparent colour , see attachment for what l mean.
    Any assistance would be appreciated.

It's impossible to determine what you are doing from the screenshot. Could you post a stripped down copy of the database? Remove everything not needed to illustrate the problem.

I would like the background colour to be transparent.
i.e. no background colour, just an image.

If you mean by transparent that you want to be able to see what's behind the form, it can't be done.
You can set the Picture property of the form as a whole to a picture that contains a color gradient or whatever you like.
If you set the Picture Size Mode property of the form to Stretch, the picture will always fill the entire form.
