    Positive/negative (Excel 2000)

I'm new to Excel and need help on a query please.
I have 2 columns of numbers totalled in F22 and G22.
I want to subtract the smaller number from the larger number and place the answer in F25 or G25 depending upon the answer eg if F22 minus G22 gives a positive I want the answer in G25, if G22 minus F22 fives a positive I want the answer in F25. I'm sure that this must be easy in Excel but help will be appreciated.
    Thanks everyone.

    Welcome to Woody's Lounge!

In F25, you can place this formula:

    =IF(G22>F22,G22-F22,"")

    and in G25

    =IF(F22>G22,F22-G22,"")

If F22 and G22 are equal, both cells will remain empty. If you want both cells to be filled with 0, change > to >= (that is, a > followed by an =)
