    folders (Word 2000)

Is there a way to share folders (Not personal folders) with co-workers on a network?

yes, you can right click on the folder and share - assign a password or permisions, depending on your OS.

Got that. Now how does the co-worker to whom I gave permission to a folder access that folder via our Exchange server. So far, when he is in Outlook and does File>Open other user's folder and inputs my name, he can see listed: Calendar, Contacts, Inbox, Tasks, Notes, and Journal--but no "Folders."

they access it via windows explorer (or outlook's file access feature), not exchange.

if you want to share using exchange, you need to create a public folder and put the files into it.

How can I use Windows Explorer to access a folder that is in someone's Outlook mailbox even if they have given me permission to it?

    Re: folders (Word 2000)

you can't - i thought we were talking about file system folders ("Not personal folders" and "word 2000") you wanted access too.

if you set permissions on the exchange server public folders, anyone with permission can access them.

where is the folder named "Folders" stored? in your mailbox or in the public folders?

The folders are within the Outlook mailbox. Mailbox is the parent.

they'll need to open it using tools > services > exchange service > advanced tab. you'll need to give the permission to the mailbox (on outlook today level) and for the specific folders they need. it'll be listed in their folder list everytime they open outlook.
