    norton anti virus 2004

    I removed norton anti virus 2004 from my PC, when i try to install it again i get the the following error message through half way of the installation:

    Norton Anti Virus 2004 Professional installation has failed. Do you want to try to install again? there are two option retry and cancel when i click retry i get the same error message. i alos get the same error message when i try to install Norto Personal Firewall.

    I don't use Norton but is it possible that the installer program "knows" that the 2004 version is long past its subscription time? You should check with them to see what they say.

    Before I uinstalled it, it was saying that it expires on June 2006....

    it looks like my laptop has not got windows installer , i can not install anything,,,

    i have installed still id does not work, i cnnot do windows updates either...

    Go to Symantec's web site, download SymNRT and run. This will remove previous "uninstalled" versions of NAV. I have ran into this problem a couple of times and this has always worked for me.

    i have sorted it out, installed windows installer 3.1 stopped the wndows installer service run the service again and it worked.
