    Returning the current user name

I'm sure there is a simple way of returning the currently logged in user for an Access database, i.e. the Name typed into the User level security log on box?
I want to be able to use the result to identify the writer
in a record added to a Calls table in the database.

The function is CurrentUser(). In an unsecured database, it will return Admin. In a secured database, it will return the login for the current user.

Re: Returning the current user name

Thanks Charlotte, I knew it had to be something basic but when I typed "return current user" or just "current user" etc the CurrentUser function did not come up in Help. Of course if I had thought to type the ungrammatical question "Currentuser" ? it WOULD come up. Serves me right for using good English!
