    Removal of gap above H1 TAG

    There is a gap above the H1 TAG when the site is viewed in IE, see screenshot:

    This looks fine in Firefox but not in IE, any help would be appreciated.

    Is this on the home page http://clubamigos.port5.com/index.htm?

    (Not sure I can help, but it may assist others checking your code.)

    I don't know if I'm missing something or not, but I went to the link provided by Leif in both Firefox and IE6 and don't see the gap you describe. This screen clip is from IE.

    This is when viewed with FF (1.0.7) - the gap above the word 'Introduction' is much less.

    The gap l am on about is above the H1 tag and below the navbar.
    In Firefox there is less of a gap between the H1 tag and the navbar.

    If you see the attachment you will see what l am trying to illustrate.

    Aha, sorry fellas, I misunderstood the problem. I thought you were talking about a null space rather than a "too large" white space. Hang on for more responses, for I don't have a solution offhand.

    Re: Removal of gap above H1 TAG

    Hi there

    If you are OK with CSS you could use:

    h1 {
    color: #000000;
    font-size: 1.1em;
    font-weight:bold;
    font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    line-height: 1em;
    }

    This will provide you with a black H1 with a line height for that specific tag of 1em

    Is this what you are looking for?

    I managed to resolve this myself as someone pointed out there was a </P> tag that was not needed.

    Re: Removal of gap above H1 TAG

    For future reference, there are handy web developer toolbars for both Firefox and Internet Explorer which will let you "outline" (box) an element by its tag name (e.g., h1). This can help identify whether the problem is with the styling of that element or something else in the page. A real sanity-saver.

    Web Developer Extension - by Chris Pederick for Firefox 1.0.x and 1.5.x

    Internet Explorer Developer Toolbar Beta 2 - by Microsoft for IE 6.0 and higher
