Backup file *.XLK (2000 & XP)

I cannot find any method of creating an XLK file, which I understand is an Excel backup file similar to a WBK in Word. How do I create this type of file please as it is not on the drop down list, or appearing as an option in Tools > Options > Save

when you save a file, choose File-SaveAs then under Tools-General options in the SaveAs dialog, check Always create backup. This will then create the .xlk file for you. Note: you will have to do this for each workbook you create or else you will have to modify your Book.xlt template to include this option.

    Select File | Save As...
Select Tools | General Options... in the Save As dialog.
Tick the check box "Always Create Backup".
    Click OK.
Each time the workbook MyWorkbook.xls is saved, a copy is created with the name Backup of MyWorkbook.xlk.
