Going by your profile, I'm guessing you are using Firefox, so I suspect you are referring to that...?

    Tools > Options > Downloads...

... and make your choice there.

And if you want to change it in IE, ( or for others who use IE ) you can use regedit and drill down to:

HKey_Current_UserSoftwareMicrosoftInternet Explorer and modify the "download directory data" location to wherever you'd like.

    Re: Downloading (Windows XP)

Thanks Leif. I have another question concerning XP...

I recently installed a wireless home network with a ZyXel router. Everything works pretty good, but when I'm on the Internet with my laptop (a new Toshiba) the Internet connection is dropped even though everything looks connected. To fix it I have to go to Network Connection > Wireless Network Connection > Repair. The "repair" breaks the connection and gets a new IP address, etc., and I'm back on the net.

Any way to keep this from happening?

    Thanks again.

Hi John, and welcome to the Lounge.

I think you would be better off re-posting that second question in the networking forum - that way anyone looking for a similar solution would know where to find it! (Plus you are more likely to get someone answering who knows more about networking issues than me <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15> )

PS - if you click on the reply icon (<IMG SRC=http://www.wopr.com/w3timages/reply.gif>) on the post you are replying to rather than your own, that user will get notified of your reply if they have selected that option.
