Publisher, Web Page Preview (Pub 2000, Win 98SE, IE5.5

When I select Web Page Preview from the file menu, publisher "builds" the preview and launches internet explorer but no images are displayed - just boxes with the red X in the top left hand corner. The text is there though. I have no trouble displaying the page in publisher and I have no trouble using IE when browsing the web. I feel there is something splendidly simple that I am supposed to do to correct this! Help!
PS Even if I start publisher, select a new web publication and then preview it I get no images.

What file type are the images? Typically, web pages can only display JPEG or GIF images. Any other image, must be converted by Microsoft Publisher. Maybe the images are in a format the Publisher cannot convert.

Hi egghead and thanks for your reply.
The images are jpegs and gifs. Not only can I not display pages I create but even the sample pages/templates that Publisher comes supplied with do not display either!
    Cheers

Here's an article you should probably check out: Problems Displaying Images in Internet Explorer.
