    8 hour day (2000)

    Hi on my time card I have in C5-Date, D5-In, E5-out, F5-in, G5-out and in
    H5- =(E5-D5)+(G5-F5) In I5 I have =IF(H5-(8/24)>0,H5-(8/24),"") this is great but it would be nice to also see how many minutes or hours I short from a 8 hour day. What should be added to the I5 formula to also give me how many minutes or hours I

    Excel can't deal with negative times. Try this:
    In I5: =ABS(H5-8/24)
    In J5: =IF(H5<8/24,"short","overtime")
