Bluetooth applet is missing from Control Panel

For some reason, the Bluetooth applet in my control panel is missing (although Tweak UI says that it, or bthprops.cpl, should be showing).

I found this Microsoft article via Google, and tried the resolution, but it didn't work, so I deleted bthsvcs form the registry.

Any ideas? Thanks a lot.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Bluetooth device? Does bthprops.cpl exist in %windir%system32?

I actually don't have any Bluetooth devices yet--restoring the applet is my first step--but I do have the bthprops.cpl file in my system32 folder.

I recently obtained a new laptop that had no bluetooth applet showing. I went to the vendors website and installed their latest bluetooth driver and the applet magically appeared.

Thanks Stuart. I called IBM (the manufacturer of my laptop), and after speaking with several technicians, I finally downloaded the file I needed.
