Filename stuck in 'RECENTLY USED LIST' (2003 ?)

A client of mine is stuck with a file in the RECENTLY USED LIST which is called GARDIAN ANGEL.

It's just a document which contains a picture and some text, nothing else harmfull.

She can't seem to get rid of the file from the recently used files list and it's always the first file at the top even if she used other files after.

I scanned the computer for viruses (with AVG) and found nothing.

I'm guessing it might be something stuck in NORMAL.DOT.

How could I "reset" the NORMAL.DOT file (and hope that solves the problem)?

If you have any ideas please let me know.

The list of recently used files is kept in the Windows Registry, not in Normal.dot.

Let her try this first:
- Start Word.
- Select Tools | Options...
- Activate the General tab.
- Clear the check box Recently used file list.
- Click OK.
- Quit Word.
- Start Word again.
- Select Tools | Options...
- Activate the General tab.
- Tick the check box Recently used file list.
- Set the desired number of files for the MRU.
- Click OK.
- Quit Word.

If that doesn't help, let her delete the Settings value in the HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoft11.0WordData registry key. This will also reset some other Word settings, however.
