    AutoHotkey

    AutoHotkey - Free Mouse and Keyboard Macro Program with Hotkeys and AutoText - is a free, open-source utility for Windows. With it, you can:

    o Automate almost anything by sending keystrokes and mouse clicks. You can write a mouse or keyboard macro by hand or use the macro recorder.
    o Create hotkeys for keyboard, joystick, and mouse. Virtually any key, button, or combination can become a hotkey.
    o Expand abbreviations as you type them. For example, typing "btw" can automatically produce "by the way".
    o Create custom data entry forms, user interfaces, and menu bars. See GUI for details.
    o Remap keys and buttons on your keyboard, joystick, and mouse.
    o Respond to signals from hand-held remote controls via the WinLIRC client script.
    o Run existing AutoIt v2 scripts and enhance them with new capabilities.
    o Convert any script into an EXE file that can be run on computers that don't have AutoHotkey installed.

    The latest version is 1.0.41.00 (released January 19, 2006). <img src=/S/free.gif border=0 alt=free width=30 height=15>ware

    Re: AutoHotkey

    Great find, Alan. I've spent this evening using it to create a little application I've been after for a while (see <post:=531,166>post 531,166</post:>) and I'm pleased to say I've been successful <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>. No more frustration when I instinctively middle-click on the taskbar! <img src=/S/thankyou.gif border=0 alt=thankyou width=40 height=15>
    Waggers
    If at first you do succeed, you&#39;ve probably missed something.

    Good stuff! It's always nice to know that these "do everything" programs can be put to use to actually do something useful! <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>
