Default Paragraph Font (Word 2000)
Can I change the default paragraph font?
When I go into Styles - it wont let me modify this - it does let me modify normal which I have done - but it sometimes slips back to the old font.
I want to change from Times New Roman to Arial

Re: Default Paragraph Font (Word 2000)
"Default Paragraph Font" is not really a style - it is a way to indicate that you want to remove direct character formatting.
If you want to set the default font for a document, modify the Normal style in that document. Already existing text may or may not be affected, depending on whether direct formatting has been applied. You can reset character formatting by selecting some text and pressing Ctrl+Spacebar.
If you want to set the default font for all new blank documents, create a blank new document, modify the Normal style in that document and tick the check box "Add to template" in the Modify Style dialog. This won't affect existing documents based on Normal.dot, unless you select Tools | Templates and Add-Ins... in each document and tick the check box "Automatically update document styles".
