    Find obsecure characters (Word 2002 /XP SP3)

    Hello there

    Using VBA code I need to find some obsecure characters/symbols.

    I dont know how to find them using Words front end let alone using VBA to find them.

    The symbols are Left pointing double ang (the text has been truncated in the dialog box) eg.
    >>

    and Right pointing double ang (again the text has been truncated in the dialog box) eg.
    <<

    pls see screen capture. I've highlighted the symbols Im wanting to Find.

    any ideas on how I would find this using VBA code.

    As you can see in your screenshots, the ANSI code for those characters is 171 and 187, respectively. In VBA, you can use Chr(171) and Chr(187) to specify them. So, for example:

    With Selection.Find
    .Text = Chr(171)
    ...
    If .Execute Then ...
    End With
