    Is Null ? (Access 2000)

Why is the IsNull command not valid? I tried to enter in the OnClick command of the button an If command, forcing the user to choose a receipt from the list box.But it really does not function. Why is it so?
    If IsNull(Me!LstReceipts) Then
MsgBox " you have no chosen a Receipt ! "
    Exit Sub
    DoCmd.Beep
    Else
    ......
    End If
