Re: Print friendly function for Blogger

The general principle behind is quite simple but the real power is the way the actual original page was layed out. It appears your blogger (from memory of recent posts) has a main page area and a right hand column all in div tags. The way the "printer friendly" method works is to make the peripheral outer columns (that normally hold menus/adverts and sundary items) to become invisible and send the central column that has the meet in it to the centre of the page, remove extraneous graphics and the like and then format the text to a reasonable size, say 12pt.

This kind of coding is a real art as the original design of the HTML page is of paramount importance as there are two css files controlling the page; the print.css and the main.css(for HTML layout).

I have example code but as I said above it is specifically designed for my company page layouts and would have to be reworked to fit in line with the blogger code. The print.css and the link to its master html page have a hand in glove relationship. It easier to engineer than re-engineer.

Interesting, but it sounds too-consuming -- especially after all the help you've given me with other projects.

I'll continue to search for someone using Blogger who has already setup the print friendly system.
