Can you retrieve files from the OLK26 folder? (Outlook 2003)

Have a user who opened an email attachments, made changes and Saved As, but forgot to change the location so his file ended up saved in the OLK26 secure temporary folder. We are unable to locate the file OR the folder for that matter (presumably because it is secure) and he needs it. Have tried searching for the file name, Recent Documents, and Word's recent file list. Anyone have any suggestions on how to retrieve it?

I don't know if the OLK folder has changed name between versions, but mine is at Cocuments and settings%username%Local SettingTemporary Internet FilesOLK92. I can retrieve files from there without issue.

The exact name of the OLK folder changes - it is assigned at random, see Attachments remain in the Outlook Secure Temporary File folder when you exit Outlook 2003. You won't find the folder directly in Windows Explorer, but if you know its name, you can type its full path in the address bar and press Enter, this will open the folder.
If you don't know the name, you can look it up in a Command Prompt window: type

Dir Cocuments and Settings<username>Local SettingsTemporary Internet Files

(replace <username> with your username) and press Enter.

Rory - on my PC it was OLK26. On the users', OLKB. Random, as Hans suggested.

I had read that article, Hans, but (as with some MS documentation) found it didn't tell me a solution to the problem. Thanks for advising me to type the path directly into the Explorer path line. That worked (once I figured out that the folder name was different on his machine <img src=/S/bingo.gif border=0 alt=bingo width=15 height=22> ). Emailed it to him (since I was accessing his machine remotely) and told him to save it to a better location next time.

I had this problem with a user only the other day, who had tried Searching in vain for their file saved in the Outlook folder.

Fortunately the file was a spreadsheet which had been edited in Excel, and it was just a matter of going into File and clicking on at the most-recently-edited one, then saving it somewhere sensible this time!
