    Any Shortcut keys to... (XP-Pro)

    <img src=/S/hello.gif border=0 alt=hello width=25 height=29> Loungers

Is there a shortcut key combination to switch from one active application to the second active application?

Say I am transcribing a song, and I have my MS-Word application open, and then I have my audio player. I need to pause the audio player, (only way to do that is to press the pause button using the mouse), to type the words of the song in MS-Word (which would require a click to activate that app). Then restart the audio player and pause it again to type the second set of words. I am trying to eliminate the use of the mouse to activate MS-Word before I can start typing again.

Is there a fast key combo to do that?

I know of the Alt-Tab, but what I really need is to emulate the Alt-Tab while the windows are arranged on the desktop so that I can see both apps at the same time, just activate one and then the other.

    Thanks

Say that window A is the active window. Now you open window B.
Alt+Tab will take you back from B to A.
    Work a bit in A.
    Alt+Tab will activate B again.
    etc.

    Hi Wassim

I'm assuming there are no menu items available on your audio player, just buttons? If this is the case, you might need to consider an application like AutoIt v3 - Automate and Script Windows Tasks - For Free!. This can simulate mouse movements and clicks, as well as keystrokes. It might even be desirable to fire the appropriate AutoIt script from a Word macro with a shortcut key.

    Unfortunatly, the audio player is a proprietary one, and we MUST use it <img src=/S/drop.gif border=0 alt=drop width=23 height=23> <img src=/S/boxedin.gif border=0 alt=boxedin width=25 height=20> <img src=/S/shy.gif border=0 alt=shy width=15 height=15>

But at home, I can do whatever I need to or want to.

    Thanks for the tips.
