two workbooks refering to cell references (excel 2003)

    Hello,
I was wondering if I have 2 workbooks open

workbook 1 has data with named ranges. (I have many of these same workbooks with diffenrent values)

workbook 2 has the formulas =(namerange) ie.named range can be any field name.

I want to be able to have workbook 2 communicate with any workbook 1 if that workbook 1 is currently open.

anyone know how i can do this>?

You can use an indirect function:

=Indirect("'Workbook 1.xls'!NameRange")
