    Keeping CMD Window Open (XP-SP-2)

If I execute a shortcut to a bat file, the window closes and I "know" something ain't right.

Short of executing it straight from a CMD window, is there a way to have shortcuts such as this NOT close the window after execution?

    Regards,
    Chuck Billow

    1) Put PAUSE after the executable program which is failing.
    or
    2) Redirect the console output (both ordinary and error messages) to a log file named after the BATch file
    e.g. PROGRAM.EXE > %~n0.txt 2>&1
and look at it after the execution of the BATch file.

    John:

    That worked fine. Thanks.

Whatever happened to "Close on ext" option on shortcuts?

    Mr. Al:

Firstly, how do YOU know they're not? Secondly, WHY not? Thirdly, I never said I was bright. Thirdly, that's no stranger than the girl I know that keeps pythons, two, named Killer and Stretch.

Ah! Al has explained your message!

I would probably be in breach of the Protection of Badgers Act, 1992 were I to have these pretty, but unfriendly, creatures captive on my premises! They were at a wildlife rescue charity, in fact, having been orphaned...
