Bringing Bookmarks etc to a New Computer (Windows XP Pro/Office 2003)

I just finished reformatting and installing Windows XP to a newer computer. Although I copied all "Address Book" and "Favorites" files first and re-inserted them into the appropriate folders on the newer computer, I don't seem to have access to these items. Is there any way to get this info into the newer computer (the older one is still intact and files can be procured from it. Thanks in advance for any info.

Please ID "appropriate folders" that you have copied these files to?

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

And also, what do you mean by "re-inserted"; copy, import?

Why not try to Export the Favorites from IE to a bookmark file, and later Import it to IE (the Favorites folders on the newer PC).

Click File - Import and Export and then follow steps.

Hans' excellent explanation (in steps if you like):
