Hotfix v's Service Pack (OfficeXP SP3)

My understanding is a Office Service Pack is to repair a series of bugs.

A Hotfix is just a patch to repair 1 bug.

I heard that when you install a Hotfix - it can't be uninstalled? Is this true.

    Do you recommend applying hotfixes?

    many thanks

Some hotfixes can be uninstalled others can not. Also, A hotfix may repair more than one bug. Hotfixes related to security should be applied. Any others area at your discretion. If you are not having the problem(s) being repaired then you probably do not want to install the hotfix.

Some hotfixes you have to call MS Product Support Services to get. They are only to address specific problesm for users you have that particular problem. These wouldn't show up in a Windows Update, though.
