    Magin Alignment (2002)

    Hi,

    I'm having trouble with margins on my website. I used a preformatted template in Frontpage that I liked. Eveything looks fine till I go to preview it. the text that is below the top border extends past the preset border margins. I like the width of the border and want to the text to be justified below and not go past it. There is a left border which I use as well. I've looked under margins but didn't find anything helpful. I thought about inserting a table and putting the text in that but thought I'd check her first. Again , it looks fine in design mode, its only when I go to preview that it looks bad.

    Thanks,
    Leesha

    Is it possible for you to publish the page and post a link to it so that we can see what is happening? I think I know what you mean, but a picture is worth a lot of words! <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

    (Edited by Leif to make link live - see the quick guide and/or <!help=19>Help 19<!/help> - it's really not that difficult and is very helpful to others!)

    Sure!!!

    You could add a style to your page:

    Add the following bold text to you page:

    <meta name="Microsoft Border" content="tlb, default">

    <style>
    body{ margin-right: 25%;}
    </style>

    </head>

    between the relevant tags in your code. This will create a margin on the right of your page to 25 % of the width. You can fiddle with the number until you get the desired efect you are looking for. I have set the value as a percent as you page has been set to fit the 100% screen.

    have you got this file sitting on your local PC? If so you can open it with Notepad.exe. Righthand mouse click --> open with... and choose Notepad.

    OK.....let's wind back a bit here. I see that your page is published on a website. Did you create this page yourself in Frontpage using a template or was it an online template <img src=/S/confused.gif border=0 alt=confused width=15 height=20>

    Re: Magin Alignment (2002)

    I appreciate the offer and was one step ahead of you LOL (Hans is always asking me to strip down my Access Database and updload). the problem is that it won't zip small enough. If I just sent the one page will the work? I ask because I have no idea how all the links work etc. God I feel so dumb!!

    Re: Magin Alignment (2002)

    Hi Leesha

    I am knocking off work now but I will be working at my college tonight and can pick the file up from Woody's while my students are working. (XHTML and CSS, want to come along <img src=/S/rofl.gif border=0 alt=rofl width=15 height=15>)

    <img src=/S/hmmn.gif border=0 alt=hmmn width=15 height=15> Will one page be enough, the simple answer is but I can do it page by page but that seems quite a lot of pages.
